Volkswagen is still the best-selling car brand in the Canary Islands, wrapping up a decade of success. The firm has solidified its undisputed leadership in the Canary Islands for 10 consecutive years, and ends 2014 with 6,554 new registrations, 858 of which were commercial vehicles. Another year as market leader highlights the trust and loyalty that Canarian customers have placed in Volkswagen.

This makes Volkswagen´s share of the passenger car market, 14.5% in 2014. Volkswagen Canarias has sold over 1,000 units (commercial and passenger vehicles) more than the second best-selling brand in the Islands.

Volkswagen's bid to broaden its extensive range of vehicles, as well its commitment to sustainability are two key factors that have strengthened the brand´s lead in the Canaries. Along with this, its focus on new technologies has made the car company one of the most innovative brands on the market.

2014 has been a year of great achievements for Volkswagen Canarias, an example of which was the launch of the new Volkswagen Polo, the best selling vehicle in its segment with 3,718 new registrations.

The revolutionary new Golf Sportsvan energized the compact family vehicle segment, thanks to its sporty and dynamic outline, and its technological innovations. On top of that, the launch of the new Passat, Volkswagen´s prestigious sedan, which was presented last December, featured significant technological developments, making it a highly versatile vehicle.

Finally, the new versions of the Touareg, Scirocco and Polo Cross models, were also launched during 2014.

Another great achievement for Volkswagen in 2014 was its successful defence of its World Rally Championship title with the Polo R WRC . This highlights the brand´s strength not only in its models for mass production, but also competitively.

This year, the brand has launched an ambitious regional sports project with DISA Copi Sport, to start competing again in the regional and provincial rally tour with a Volkswagen Polo TDI.

In 2015 Volkswagen Canarias will continue to renew its range with new releases that will reinforce its position as market leader, most importantly the arrival of Golf GTE and the new Touran. With Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the brand will add new models to its range with the arrival of the new Caddy, Transporter, Multivan and California.
