Grupo Domingo Alonso

The DOMINGO ALONSO GROUP - over 1,500 people dedicated to mobility and the distribution of vehicles in more than 35 countries.

Domingo Alonso, a family business group, began its activity exporting tomatoes. In 1953, using the international relations established, it ventured in the automobile sector thus becoming the fourth oldest Volkswagen importer worldwide.

Eighty years later, in an unsettled world with so many changes in all sectors of the economy, there is one thing that differentiates us: knowledge. This is why we must surround ourselves with the best talent, be willing to fail and think exponentially to achieve success in the world of mobility. In order to achieve this objective, we have the best technology to lead and promote the digital transformation that enables us to always put the client in the center of all our activities and become a data driven company. Thus, the Domingo Alonso Group, with its strategy of expansion, diversification and transformation, backs investment in information technologies, communication and consultancy, with more than 10 million euros invested and the creation of several companies within these sectors over the last decade.

Today the Domingo Alonso Group is a benchmark company present in more than 35 international markets.

Welcome to the corporate website of the Domingo Alonso Group.

In this WEB we will attempt to transmit not only our experience over more than 80 years of existence, but also how we see our future, a future full of passion for what we do, in which we will accompany our our partners, employees and business collaborators and of course our customers, manufacturers and the brands that have distinguished us with their trust, all of whom, we are very proud.

In addition, we want to share with you the ethical values at the base of each action we take. We understand that honesty, effort and passion must always preside over our conduct in order to satisfy the expectations of our clients, without whose approval nothing we do would make sense, which is why strive to improve every day.

We also work to create a better world for our children, improve the environment and contribute to education and training for young people and adults. Our commitment to defending the environment and improving social conditions in the Canary Islands is evident not only in our participation in Foresta and the Sergio Alonso Foundation, but also in our employment of reusable materials in our daily activity in order to become a zero plastic and paper company.

In this welcome I must also thank my father Sergio Alonso for his 55 years of dedication and devotion to the company and the generous and unlimited support of my mother. There were good and bad times, but with his daily exertion and love for the company he has left us a legacy that we will defend from a position of unity and responsibility.

I hope you enjoy our website and to achieve a place in your heart with our dedication and daily determination.

STRATEGIC PARTNERS

Grupo Salvador Caetano

Salvador Caetano Group started its activity in Portugal in the year 1946, under the great tenacity of its founder, Salvador Fernandes Caetano, whose motto was “Always present in tomorrow’s construction”. Ever since its incorporation as manufacturer of bodyworks for buses, the Salvador Caetano Group has travelled a long way, and has become a strong-rooted Group, allowing the expansion of its activity to other business areas and cross-border expansion. It currently has more than 100 companies located in 33 countries on two different continents: Europe and Africa, employing over 6,000 people in five different business areas: industry, distribution, retail, energy and services.

After several years of strategic alliance between both groups in order to carry out new innovative projects, and therefore, to become even more competitive in the automotive sector, in 2017, Domingo Alonso Group entered the shareholding of the Portuguese holding company Salvador Caetano. This investment means strengthening the relationship with its international automotive partner. Thus it participates in a group of more than 75 companies with more than 300 dealers in Portugal and Spain, which represents more than 25 brands with a turnover exceeding 2000 million Euros. For the Domingo Alonso Group this alliance allows it to become the main operator in the Iberian Peninsula, with annual sales that exceeds 110,000 vehicles, while at the same time increasing its growth in international context and support to deal with the changes in the new era of the car sector.
